Think of summer days, and that refreshing 'zing' from running through the sprinklers to cool off. We reckon that’s the same revitalising burst of freshness you get with each Driscoll’s raspberries you eat.

An Everyday Treat

Delicate and soft, yet bursting with sweet and tart flavours, raspberries are difficult to resist! Luckily, enjoying a handful of ripe raspberries is something you can do every single day, thanks to their incredible taste, and hearty nutritional benefits. Fresh, frozen, or baked, Driscoll’s raspberries can be the star of any dish.

Selecting

The tastiest raspberries are plump and brightly coloured, with a soft, hazy gloss. They should be free of dents and bruises. The tiny hairs you see on raspberries are called ‘styles’ – these are perfectly natural and don’t affect the taste or ripeness of the berries.

Storing

Raspberries are best kept in the fridge for one to two days in their original packet. We don’t recommend placing them in an airtight container, as this will restrict their airflow. You can even freeze raspberries to help them last longer- just rinse them in cool water and allow them to dry completely before placing them into a freezer-safe container.

Enjoying

It’s best to wash your raspberries just before you are ready to enjoy them! Not only are raspberries perfect on their own, but they are also delicious in a drink, jam, savoury dish, or in baked goods!

A Ripe Raspberry History

Whilst Australia is home to numerous species of native raspberries, it’s actually European raspberries that Aussies seem to love the most. The Romans used these berries for medicinal purposes, and in the 16th century, the British began cultivating the deliciously sweet red variety raspberries. The red variety was preferred in North America to the native black raspberry, which was firmer and less sweet. These favoured raspberries later made their way to Australia, and are now grown all over the country.
