Meet Brad
Growing up on his family’s orchard in Harcourt, Victoria, Brad was surrounded by apples, pears and plums — an upbringing that sparked a lifelong interest in plants and science. That curiosity led him to study plant sciences at university and complete a PhD in grapevine physiology, before taking a natural step into the fast-moving world of berries.

Brad joined Costa in 2016 and soon broadened his horizons, spending two years in Yunnan, China, refining farming practices in a rapidly expanding region. Now back in Corindi, New South Wales, he became Horticultural Manager in 2024, guiding a team dedicated to producing exceptional fruit.

For Brad, the best days are spent out in the field. He works closely with a skilled horticultural team to fine-tune growing methods, always looking for ways to lift quality and consistency from one season to the next. The changing conditions of each season keep the work dynamic and challenging, and he thrives on finding new solutions alongside colleagues who share the same drive.

The Corindi operation is a significant employer in the area, offering year-round and seasonal roles and engaging with local schools and universities to highlight pathways into agriculture. Sustainability is a key focus too: the farm uses integrated pest management, along with careful monitoring of water and fertiliser use, to maintain healthy crops while reducing waste and runoff.

When it comes to enjoying the harvest, Brad keeps it simple — a handful of fresh berries on his morning oats or eaten straight from the bush. Looking ahead, he hopes to see the industry continue to grow in knowledge and stewardship, nurturing both the land and the next generation of growers.
